the AGL Action Rescue Service responded to a report of the single
vehicle crash at Conondale north of Maleny at 1.30pm on Wednesday July
7th.

At about 10p.m. on Thursday July
8th a report by a passing motorist to the Queensland Ambulance service
indicated that there was an injured male person on the side of Old
Caloundra Road in the Beerburrum Forest just outside of Landsborough.

Inspector John (Black Jack)
Mason, a retired Queensland Police Officer was found dead at his Burgess
Avenue, Maleny residence by his wife, Gloria mid afternoon on Wednesday
July 7th. He was found crushed to death after his vehicle apparently
slid off a jack whilst he was working on the vehicle. It is believed
that he died instantly.

At last Wednesday’s changeover dinner for
Maleny Rotary, President of MDSRC Mike Norman was made a Paul
Harris Fellow. The Paul Harris Fellow award is the highest
award that Rotary can make for ‘outstanding services in the
community’.
