Maleny community invited to attend bushfire preparation workshop

The Queensland Fire and Rescue Service is urging Maleny residents to arm themselves with information ahead of this years fire season by coming down to a bushfire preparation workshop.

Boy has arm broken in traffic accident

Emergency crews from Maleny and the AGL Action Rescue Service responded to a report of the single vehicle crash at Conondale north of Maleny at 1.30pm on Wednesday July 7th.

Man found shot dead at Landsborough

At about 10p.m. on Thursday July 8th a report by a passing motorist to the Queensland Ambulance service indicated that there was an injured male person on the side of Old Caloundra Road in the Beerburrum Forest just outside of Landsborough.

Vale Inspector Jack Mason

Inspector John (Black Jack) Mason, a retired Queensland Police Officer was found dead at his Burgess Avenue, Maleny residence by his wife, Gloria mid afternoon on Wednesday July 7th.     He was found crushed to death after his vehicle apparently slid off a jack whilst he was working on the vehicle.     It is believed that he died instantly.

Mike Norman - Paul Harris Fellow

At last Wednesday’s changeover dinner for Maleny Rotary, President of MDSRC Mike Norman was made a Paul Harris Fellow.     The Paul Harris Fellow award is the highest award that Rotary can make for ‘outstanding services in the community’.
