you Know about these things
we see around the Hinterland........
knows the historic importance
of the shed in this image...........
who walk up and down Maple Street, Maleny
can see this shed at the read of Maple Street busineses.
How many know of the past use of the shed?
It was straight from the mouth of a person who should know, thanks to Harvey (Red) Bryce who states that it was the town's first funeral parlour.
The shed is presently situated behind the building that contains Pioneer Permanent Building Society and Maleny Travel.
It was part of a large parcel of land once owned by Harry Lyons family. On Maple Street Harry Lyons had a mechanical business and a car rental business. The funeral parlour was also run by the Lyons' family and was situated behind the mechanical service. Perhaps someone out there has some photos of it and can tell us more about this part of Maleny's history.
We would like
any further information on this piece of
Maleny's history so that we can bring it to our readers.
