25 years of continuous active service

The Maleny and District Rural Fire Brigade celebrated 25 years of active service at a dinner at Tranquel Park Resort on June 16th.

The Minister later addressed the members and presented Certificates to members.  Mr. Purcell spoke about the value of the volunteer hours worked by volunteers for the Queensland Public.   Without the work of the dedicated volunteers the public would have a very high price to pay for the services provided.

One of the foundation members was well known local, Harvey Bryce, a member of one of the pioneer families of Maleny.    Harvey brought with him a great experience in the bush and a knowledge of the Maleny area.
