The holiday ‘prize’ which nearly cost Nicole thousands of dollars Nicole was on the internet one day, using her home computer.    A pop-up appeared on her screen telling her that she had won a holiday to the Bahamas, but that to retrieve her prize she would have to call the number listed within 3 minutes.

Warning Consumers warned against business scams

Authorities have implored Australian consumers to protect themselves from fraudsters scoring millions of dollars annually through a host of illegal schemes.   Detective Inspector Brian Hay, of the Queensland Police's fraud and corporate crime group, warned consumers to "always be suspicious" as part of the nationwide Scam Watch awareness campaign.   It involves the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission and policing departments across the nation.

Warning over credit card call scams

The Australian Bankers' Association says a new scam offers a timely reminder that personal details should never be given out over the phone.   In the latest scam, people are told they have been chosen to receive a credit card with a pre-approved limit, but need to provide several details before the card is posted to them.

Don't leave it to somebody else  ....if you do it will never get done.
