excel at
Landsborough School Sports Day
After two previous attemps, the weather was fine enough for Landsborough State School to hold its junior sports day, much to the delight of the students and parents. The winning placegetters from each grade are as follows:
Preschool Boys – 1st: Joel Dionysius. 2nd: Jack Humphrey. 3rd: Reed Mahoney. Girls – 1st: Alexandria Psarros. 2nd: Brittany Howe. 3rd: Adelia Barton.
Year 1 Boys – 1st: Jake Chalmers. 2nd: Zac Rouhan. 3rd: Hayden Downs. Girls – 1st: Kaylah Donald. 2nd: Anna Doneman. 3rd: Kirralee Valentine.
Year 2 Boys – 1st: Derek Parascos. 2nd: Dylan Howe. 3rd: Jonathon Dennehy. Girls – 1st: Johanna Gotz. 2nd: Kaitlyn Scheiwe. 3rd: Lauren Harris. Year 3 Boys – 1st: Callum Hunter. 2nd: Andrew Pill. 3rd: Ross Humphrey. Girls – 1st: Elise Scott. 2nd: Bonnie Pickering. 3rd: Erin Harris.
After the sprints the students participated in a rotation of different events around the oval such as sack races, long jump, high jump, discus, shot put and an obstacle course. The points were tallied and the winning house was Petrie with 289 points, followed by Flinders with 262 points and Burgess with 167points.
Fine weather helped ensure a great day for
Landsborough State School’s Junior Sports Day.
