Landsborough Students Shine

Outstanding achievements were again achieved by Landsborough State School students in Rugby League.

Daniel Kidd represented the Sunshine Coast in the Under 11 Rugby League team which won the State Carnival in Ipswich and Anthony Chaytor represented the Sunshine Coast in the Under 12 Rugby League team which performed really well in Longreach.

• Congratulations to the following students who represented the Glasshouse District in athletics at the University of the Sunshine Coast.    They were Teisha Doherty, Kristina Brown and Mitchell Kooistra.

Teisha came 4th in the 100m , 3rd in the 200m ,2nd in the long jump and 1st in the high jump.

Teisha was also named Sunshine Coast Age Champion.

Teisha will now go on to the Qld State Championships to be held at the QE2 in Brisbane. We wish here all the best for that.   Teisha not only has a passion for athletics, she also enjoys Irish Dancing and at a recent competition won a 2nd a 3rd and a Highly Commended.

Well Done.

• A number of our students recently entered the University of New South Wales Science Competition and the results were very good indeed, as you can see.

A Participation Award was presented to Clover Aslte (Yr6), Jenna Britton (Yr6), Lauren Roberts (Yr6), and Tui Timewell (Yr7).   A credit award was presented to Teisha Doherty (Yr6), Cory Josland (Yr7), and Michael Leuenberger (Yr7).   Krystal Copely frm Yr5 was presented the School Award and Sophie Daniel from Yr 6 was presented the Distinction Award.

We are all very proud of Sophie as this
is the highest award possible.

Congratulations to all the students on
your excellent achievements.
