Maleny's Soccer Team's
fundraising finds support

by Cameron Outridge

John Foley of the Maleny Hotel recently congratulated Josh Horn, captain of the Maleny Rangers under 16’s soccer team on their performance this season and their selection to go to Vanuatu for the South Pacific Challenge.    John has donated goods to the value of $500 for the teams fundraising raffle.   Tickets can be purchased at the Maleny Hotel Bottle shop and Maleny Wine Cellars as well as other venues in town.     The draw will be held at the Hotel at 12 noon on the 31st of August 2003.

The Sunshine Coast Soccer Federation has given the green light to the trip and is helping process the paper work through Queensland Soccer and Soccer Australia.   With the team having a bye this Saturday 26th, their talents will be put to use in a car wash in the carpark of IGA, so bring those not so clean cars along for an expert wash.     The boys will be there from 8.30am until 1.00pm

One donation the team received this week was 45metres (approximately) of wrought iron balustrade, in excellent condition, so if anybody out there is in to renovating a home or knows of somebody who is and requires such an item then contact Michael Cole on 07 5494 2797 (evenings).

QUOTA International of Maleny is showing support for the team by holding a fundraising Tupperware Party on the 30th of July at Narelle Thamm’s Witta home at 7.00p.m

PHD, one of our sponsors is a plumbing hardware distributor and has recently opened stores in Maroochydore and Caloundra.   Coming on board this week with sponsorship are Maleny Daylillies, R C Building Inspection, the soon to be completed Maleny Cheesery and Green Office Australia.

Any other organization or individuals wishing to help the club in raising its required funds can contact Tour Organizing Manager Tom Trampnau on 5494 3060
