Sports Club thanks
Beerwah Lions Club
by Cameron Outridge

A surprise presentation was made to Beerwa Lions by Glasshouse Sports Club representative Sue Fullerton recently.  Sue handed over a cheque in appreciation of the many hours members of the Beerwah Lions Club put in to support the sports club.

The presentation occurred at the dinner meeting held July 22 at the Club.   "This donation will be put to good use by Lions to continue to help support the local Community,'' Lions said.

• The Lions Save Sight eyeglasses project was given a boost by Beerwah Lions on 2nd August when some 128 pairs of old spectacles and lenses collected at this point in time were passed on to Morayfield Lion Dick Pine.    Dick is recycle co-ordinator for processing at the Lions Redcliffe recycling centre. Beerwah Lions is most appreciative of the public donations of old eyeglasses for this project and thank local Premier Optique outlets for their continuing support as collection points.

• Beerwah Lions appear to be one of the BBQ specialists in this area and again created a smoke screen/storm at the Glasshouse Mountains Art & Craft Fair on 2nd August.   Lions Dennis Croft, Ken Loveday, Greg Howard & Steve Rose on duty at the barbecue.

Our thanks once again to Cameron & Tanya Outridge
