Apex sponsors escape weekend
for leukemia sufferer's family

by Cameron Outridge

The Maleny Apex Club sponsored another Apex Escape weekend for the Leukemia Foundation to Maleny.  Apex Escape allows families that have been affected by Leukemia and Cancer the chance of a short break away from the stress of dealing with their illness.  Lambert and Kathy Van Dyk stayed two nights at Bendles Country Cottages and enjoyed Christmas in July at King Ludwig's German Restaurant thanks to the Apex Club.

Lambert recently underwent a Bone Marrow Transplant at the Royal Brisbane Hospital, with all signs pointing to a full recovery.  He has recently returned to work but has been unable to have any time away with the pressures of battling the illness and rejoining the work force.

Maleny Apex will be holding their changeover dinner at Maleny RSL on Saturday 17th July at 6:30.  We wish to invite any old Apexians, both from Maleny Club and other Apex Clubs.  A special invitation is extended to Life Members of other Clubs (we know you're out there Bob) to join us for the evening and see what Apex has been doing in your community.

RSVP to Tim Bagshaw on 5494 3911 by Friday 9th July.   Cost is $25 per head and partners are also welcome.
