Bassett Barks launches
consultation program
by Cameron Outridge

Queensland’s largest landscaping and potting media supplies company Bassett Barks has launched a community consultation program to keep local residents up to date about its operations.  It comes as Bassett Barks continues to work to ensure the company meets all environmental standards and government regulations.

Managing Director Sue Joseph said the new community consultation program would help the company to better inform and consult with local residents to ensure their concerns were addressed.  “This is a program which will help us to build a stronger relationship with the community we support and the community which supports us,” she said.

Key aspects of the community consultation program will be:- Establishment of the Bassett Barks Community Information Line; Doorknocking of local residents; Regular Community Update newsletters.

From May 14 the Bassett Barks Community Information Line 3210 7750 will be open during business hours with the ability to leave messages after-hours which will be responded to the next working day.  The phone line is designed to answer questions local residents may have about Bassett Barks’ operations.  Bassett Barks produces a complete range of landscaping mulches and specialist growing media.  It employs more than 35 full time staff from the Glass House Mountains region.

Founded in 1968 Bassett Barks has been operating from its 39 hectare site near the Glass House Mountains since 1987.  It is an accreditedgrowing media supplier with the Nursery Accreditation Scheme Australia.
