Bindi
takes the stage
at Australia Zoo
by
Kate Johns
Visitors to Australia Zoo for Bindi’s sixth birthday on Saturday were treated to Bindi’s first ever running commentary of Dad, Steve Irwin’s, famous crocodile demonstrations. The newly turned six-year-old performed in true Irwin style having the crowd on tender hooks while Irwin was demonstrating what not to do around a crocodile. Bindi eased the tension turning the crowd to laughter with her anecdotes on crocodile safety whilst throwing in some trademark “crikeys” and “crocs rule”.
To help Bindi celebrate all children under 14 years of age were allowed in for free and were treated to a Wiggle dance party with Dorothy the Dinosaur, face painting by fairy’s and free pony rides.
Bindi’s cake cutting was a spectacular event with proud father Steve bringing the birthday girl out on his shoulders in a beautiful purple fairy outfit. Bindi was treated to video birthday messages from all the Australia Zoo staff and a special birthday song rendition from The Wiggles.
