The funny poets are
back at The Celtic Tearoom

by Cameron Outridge

By popular demand, the Celtic Tearoom of Maleny hosts its third funny poets night on Saturday January 31.  An evening with Arcadia Flynn and her Funny Friends promises to be a riotous night with a diverse lineup of poets sure to tickle your funny bone.

Enviro-poet Ian Mackay returns for the third time with his quirky tales of the ordinary and not-so-ordinary, along with Mark Feldman, another award winning bush poet.  Tassie boy Leon Tripp visits the tearoom for the first time with a blatant display of his off-beat humour.

Two more newcomers to the tearoom are Harry Donnelly, this year’s winner of the prestigious ‘mustabeenabloodygoodpoet’ award and Dr John Parker, the poetry doctor who injects his patients daily with large doses of humour.

The evening is hosted by Maleny’s own funny girl Arcadia Flynn, whose naughty’ poetry will leave you blushing! Throughout the night deep and meaningful songwriter and performer Noel Gardner will turn shallow and meaningless to bring you some of his happy songs.  The event is a fundraiser for Maleny’s own Hug Patrol who are in desperate need of new tshirts (they’ve hugged the stitching out of their old ones).

We recommend you book your seats early as the last two Funny Poets nights sold out very quickly. Tickets are just $10 (meals available and it’s BYO), so call the Celtic Tearoom on 5499 9426 to ensure your seat.

Funny Poet Night host Acadia Flynn.
