out at ceremony
by Cameron Outridge
Sunday October 31 was a busy day for TS Centaur Cadets with four Cadets forming the catafalque and flag party for the RSL ceremony in remembrance of the Light Horse charge at Beersheeba.
They then joined Cadets from Noosa, Gympie and Caloundra for the handover of Corsairs 730 and 782 to NS Sheean and the launch of two new ones - Mr Squiggle and Ruff Draft.
The weather was more than kind and a good breeze ensured all cadets - including six of our new Recruits, had a most enjoyable sailing day. Thank you to the representatives of the community, parents and friends who joined.
Cadets and parents will be enjoying a tree planting/sailing day at the Baroon Pocket Dam on Sunday November 14, a break-up night on December 8 and recruit and leadership camp on December 11 and 12 combined with the Presentation Day.
As the visit to HMAS Tobruk on October 23 was enjoyed very much by Cadets, who are looking forward to future warship visits. Don’t forget to watch Totally Wild on Wednesday November 10 at 4pm.
Our thanks once again to Cameron & Tanya Outridge
