moves to Maleny and
brings a touch of Brazil to the coast
by Cameron Outridge
Michael Knopf ... “We love Maleny
and are really looking forward to
getting to know the area and the people”.
Music lovers have a unique opportunity to hear live, the quintessential guitar concerto by Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-lobos when new Maleny arrival composer-guitarist Michael Knopf performs with the Suncoast Sinfonia next Sunday, November 14th at St Mark’s on King Street, Buderim.
Michael and his family moved into their new Maleny residence only last week, and he has been busy rehearsing the concerto as well as packing and unpacking boxes and trying to settle in. “My family and I are a bit breathless.
There is so much to organize, but we’re happy with the move. We love Maleny and are really looking forward to getting to know the area and the people.’
Michael said. “I am hoping to present several concerts next year in the area and am planning a new work for local musicians to perform with me."
