Sound
system for
Beerwah Lions Club
by Elese Martin
Beerwah Lions Club will be able to expand its role in the community with the help of a $5000 Caloundra City Council grant to buy a portable sound system.Caloundra City Mayor Don Aldous said Council approved the expenditure, which would be funded by the division two discretional funds. “Discretional funds are a tool councillors can use to provide financial assistance to constituents or to implement minor works or services, which are not specifically identified in the budget,” Cr Aldous said.
“And I can think of no better organisation than the Beerwah Lions Club to receive this funding.” Division two Councillor Anna Grosskreutz welcomed the approval to provide the Lions Club with the sound system.
“The Lions Club work long and hard to make our community a better place and this valuable equipment will help them with a variety of community events and fundraising opportunities,” Cr Grosskreutz said.
