Council assists MCC
to aircondition CWA room
by Cameron Outridge

Maleny Community Centre is pleased to announce a collaborative effort between MCC, Council and the Maleny Branch of the Queensland Country Women's Association, which will see part of the CWA Meeting room transformed into a bookings office for the Centre.   For nearly 100 years MCC has operated without an administration or bookings office, and has relied on the generosity of local businesspeople to manage bookings.

That will soon change when a permanent office is built into the northwest corner of the CWA room, with a public access window for information, bookings, and other services.   As part of the agreement, the CWA meeting room will be air conditioned to make for a much more comfortable space in summer and winter.

At the most recent Council meeting, Division One Councillor Pauline Clayton was successful in obtaining funding to purchase the reverse cycle air conditioning unit, to be provided and installed by Maleny Chandlers.

Maleny Community Centre would like to thank the CWA for their willingness to collaborate, Councillor Clayton for her good work in obtaining the funding, and also Chandlers of Maleny for providing the airconditioning unit at a very generous discount.

Cr Clayton delivers the goods to MCC President Barbara Nye,
assisted by Maleny Chandler's Doug Tutt
