Maleny Meals on Wheels
holds 18th AGM

by Elise Martin

Maleny Meals on Wheels Inc appointed their new committee and reflected on the past year at their 18th Annual general Meeting last Thursday, August 26.
The outgoing committee remained as the ingoing committee, with Jack Wilcox as President, Ellen Newsham as Treasurer, Judy Hankinson as Secretary and Dell Somerville as Vice President.

Jack Wilcox said the last year had been a mixed year for the Maleny Meals on Wheels, with a reduction in clients and the incorporation of increasing and complex reporting procedures to Government and other authorities. “However we are determined not the lose sight of the fact that our core function is to provide nutritious meals to the frail, aged and disabled. Everything else is secondary,” Mr Wilcox said.

Mr Wilcox thanked Ellen Newsham for her help as both Treasurer and Coordinator, and Judy Hankinson for her help as Secretary. Mr Wilcox also wished Mrs Newsham well after her nomination for the 2004 Premiers Award for Queensland Seniors. Mrs Newsham was one of 268 seniors nominated for the award.
