Leading jazz vocalist
to perform in Montville

by Elise Martin

Leading jazz vocalist to perform in MontvilleAustralia's leading jazz vocalist Vince Jones will play on Saturday July 31 at Montville's Theatre-in-the- Park.    Jones has been described as a remarkable interpreter and composer of songs whose style and appeal transcends the genre.  His early influences came from his family, both of whom were keen jazz enthusiasts. Through them, he heard Louis Armstrong, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, Errol Garner and great singers such as Sarah Vaughan.  "They helped me acquire my inner voice," he said.

Many will remember Vince from the ABC TV series Come in Spinner, where he played and sang with Grace Knight.  The show commences at 2pm. Ticket sales are from Caloundra Civic Centre on 5491 4240, or online at infor@montvilletheatreinthepark. com.au by cheque or money order.

Tickets can be purchased locally at Montville Pharmacy, or on the day at the Box Office in Russell family Park, Main St. Montville.

For further information, go to www.montvilletheatreinthepark.com.au or telephone James Cowan on 544 29473.

Vince Jones brings to jazz a 'feel' that betrays his
absolute confidence and musical literacy.
