Upgrade for Mooloolah
Connection Road

by Cameron Outridge

Tenders will be called after Easter for a $1.4 million project to widen and upgrade Mooloolah Connection Road from Tunnel Ridge Road to a point about 670 metres eastwards. Member for Glasshouse Carolyn Male said the work will include a major asphalt pavement overlay and various minor improvements to the Tunnel Ridge Road and Valley View Rise intersections.

"Main Roads has advised me that input from residents has been positive and a number of their concerns have been able to be addressed," she said. These include: convex safety mirrors to be installed at three locations to improve safety for some residents leaving their properties; the design for the Valley View Rise intersection will provide sufficient area to enable bus setdown without impeding through traffic; and a new guardrail to be installed on the southern side of the road between Hamilton Close and Tunnel Ridge Road.

Carolyn Male said design of the project is almost complete and construction is expected to begin in July this year. "Weather permitting, the work is expected to be completed about October this year," she said.
