Winner returns for Moto X in Conondale

by Cameron Outridge

Conondale Motocross track is set to host Round Five of the Australian Motocross Championship this Sunday, July 4.

Last year’s winner of the Conondale round was Motorex KTM Pro Open rider, Jay Marmont and he will be returning to the circuit eager for a double crown victory on his favourite track. Holding two AustralianSupercross Championships under his belt, Marmont only has one stage to conquer for the ultimate racing glory – an Australian Motocross Championship.  Jay is looking forward to the next round this weekend in Conondale, where the 21 year old from Wollongong, NSW is hopeful of repeating his 2003 success at this same track.“Motorex KTM will be looking good for a top result at Conondale.

I won there last year and the track certainly suits the way I ride so I expect to perform strongly,” said Marmont.  Up to 40 riders from all leading motorcycle manufacturers and private clubs will join the championship leaders for two 30 minute motos (races) in the Pro Open class of the 8 Round Australian Championship.

The action kicks off at 9am for practice and merchandise while racing starts at 12.45pm. Tickets to the event can be purchased on the day at Conondale Motocross Track.   Prices are $20 for adults, $10 for children and $50 for two adults and two kids.
