Praise for real estate agent
who died in Flaxton accident
by Cameron Outridge
Richard (Ric) Conroy lost his life in a tragic road accident in Flaxton at 8.30am Thursday September 9. His vehicle collided with a loaded gravel truck as it skidded into his path trying to avoid another vehicle. Ric, as he preferred to be called, was on his way to work at Montville Mapleton and Maleny Real Estate, a job he loved and excelled at.
He was a fully qualified Real Estate agent having completed the full Real Estate Institute of Queensland course several years ago. He was also a talented leadlight artist and amongst other things had a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Economics and Geography.
In his younger days he was a Victorian Champion road cyclist and carried this love for sport through more recently as an avid follower of the Brisbane Lions. However, Ric’s real talent was his ability to communicate with people from all walks of life in a gentle and caring manner, always placing other people’s requirements ahead of his own.
He is survived by loving family members and will be sadly missed by his “work family” and all those who came to know him.
