Any
colony of Asian bee or foreign bee arriving in Australia must be
regarded as a serious threat. Australian beekeepers are well aware of
the risk that this bee is to commercial honeybees in Australia.
These bees affect not only honey production but also the natural and
vital pollination of other crops, fruits, vegetables and other plants.
The exotic intruder is aggressive toward local European bees.

Sunshine
Coast Libraries are attempting to encourage younger members of the
community to become more involved in activities at local libraries and
one project has been to allow younger community members to design the
graphics for their library cards.

A 21-year-old male and 18-year-old female, from Brisbane had to be winched off Mount Tibrogargan by helicopter late yesterday after becoming lost wandering off the walking track. |

At about 5p.m. on Sunday February 6th a 11 year old boy was injured after falling at Gardners Falls, Maleny. It is believed that the youth slipped and fell some distance whilst stepping across some wet and slippery rocks.
