Following the recent floods it has been necessary to close the spider bridge that crosses the Mary River at Cambroon.
The bridge was closed after a truck struck problems whilst crossing the bridge on Tuesday January 25th.
An emergency service spokesperson said, “The pylons of the bridge have apparently become weakened as a result of the recent floods.”
This bridge is access to residents of Eastern Mary River Road, Conondale. It is also access to milk tankers picking up milk from the surrounding dairy farms and to the local school bus. Some dairy farmers have had to pour out their milk as it could not be collected to take to market.
Other residents are concerned about any disruption to availability to emergency service vehicles to the area.
The bridge is one that is the responsibility of the Sunshine Coast Regional Council. It is immediately unknown when repairs will be made.
