The
Sunshine Coast Council is promoting public transport throughout the
Sunshine Coast. Public transport is partly paid for through the public
transport levy which is included in council rates. As part of that
promotion public transport users can be in the draw for an Apple iPod2.
To show people just what services are available and to encourage them to use those services the council will host its first ‘On the Bus Day’ on 22 June.
“To be in the running to win an iPad2, iTunes or book vouchers, simply catch any public bus on the Sunshine Coast on 22 June. Find the code word on the bus and either text to win or register on council’s website.” Integrated Transport Portfolio Councillor Vivien Griffin.
She continued, “And if they do enjoy the experience, we hope they continue to choose public transport or at least keep it in mind as an option.”
The following bus and taxi services are part of council’s “On the Bus Day competition” includes; Sunbus services, Flexilink, Hinterland Connect, Maleny-Landsborough- Beerwah and the Council Cabs scheme.
“Give it a go”.
