“We have been working away at this since February last year so it was great to hear first hand from someone closely involved with the program how inclusion on this list will effect the community and what advantages it will have for local business and industry.
 
The National Landscapes program aims to celebrate and promote unique and iconic Australian landscapes to international travellers.

“The Glass House Mountains inclusion in the National Landscapes list would be of great benefit to the region and will certainly encourage tourism development and ensure further funding to protect our local environment,” Mr Powell said.
 
The forum was well attended with a cross-section of interested groups and stakeholders within the region.
 
"We have managed to secure support from many sectors of the community including Australia Zoo, local Council, RDA Sunshine Coast, residents and the local tourism body Sunshine Coast Destination.
 
"The program is on hold for two years which gives us time to get our submission in top shape, and this visit will certainly keep the ball rolling and provide a clear vision for going forward”, Mr Powell concluded.
