David Gibson, Qld State Member
for Gympie and Shadow Minister for Sustainable Environment and Climate
Change, was the guest speaker on Sunday, 8 February, at a LNP lunch in
Maleny. The luncheon was in support of the LNP Glass House
Representative, Andrew Powell.
After recognizing the original owners of our land and their representative, Beverly Hand, David Gibson, went on to field a variety questions such as the exclusion of beehives in state forests, how to stop the Traveston Dam project, and the harvesting of water off agricultural land which was a new concept introduced by Peter Stevens, Chairman of Lake Baroon Catchment Care Group.
David Gibson announced that one of the LNP’s policies when in government would be to encourage the uptake of solar power by offering a generous tariff to all solar energy system owners including homeowners, schools, hospitals, and businesses.
