Fatal accident on Corks Pocket Road Reesville |

Mary Smith, 77, died after her vehicle veered into a tree about 9.30am at Reesville, west of Maleny on August 26th, 2010.
The accident happened on a heavily-wooded section of Corks Pocket Road only about 100 meters from Mrs Smith’s home. She was alone in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
It is believed that Mrs Smith may have suffered a heart attack before the accident.
A witness arrived immediately after the accident and found that the airbag had been deployed and the vehicle’s horn was sounding.
At that time Mrs. Smith was still alive and groaning but passing motorists could not immediately get into the car to assist the injured driver.
Witnesses said that they tried to reach through the window then realised taht Mrs Smith had deceased.
Queensland Fire and Rescue Service from Maleny attended and extracted the deceased from the vehicle.
