Glass House schools to benefit from LNP's Results Plus plan

SCHOOLS in the Glass House electorate will receive extra teachers under an LNP Government, Shadow Education Minister John-Paul Langbroek said today. Mr Langbroek, who last month visited schools in the region with LNP representative for Glass House Andrew Powell, said local schools were set to benefit from a Springborg Government.

“The LNP is committed to ensuring students in the early years of education receive more attention and support than what they are currently getting,” said Mr Langbroek.

Shadow Minister for Education, John-Paul Langbroek, and LNP Representative for Glass House, Andrew Powell, at Maleny State High School as part of a recent tour of local schools.

“We have developed a comprehensive plan targeting the formative years of schooling which will improve basic literacy and numeracy and set kids up for the rest of their education.

“Over the next four years, 1000 prep teacher aide positions will be upgraded to full-time.

“In addition, we will put an extra 150 full-time equivalent teachers* into classes for Years 1 to 3 to help reduce class sizes and ensure our children are getting the attention they need.

“Here in Glass House, these extra teachers will make all the difference towards ensuring no child is left behind.”

Mr Langbroek said an LNP Government would invest $93 million over four years in giving students the best start to life.

“As trustees of the public education system, we have a duty to ensure every child in Queensland gets a good education,” said Mr Langbroek.

“This is best achieved by reducing class sizes and providing more support for teachers in the classroom so that every child gets the help and attention they deserve.”

LNP representative for Glass House Andrew Powell said only a Springborg Government will deliver better outcomes in education.

“I’m looking forward to working with Lawrence Springborg and John-Paul Langbroek towards bringing our local schools up to standard and giving children a good education.”
