The
pace of Australia’s lifestyle is becoming more ferocious and life
throws up more problems every day. As a result more people are
finding difficulty in seeing each day through and from time to time
many of them need some support.
Last year the Lifeline Counselling Service helped to make a difference in over 371,000 people’s lives. Today, Lifeline exist to strengthen the lives of individuals, families and communities through wide-ranging services that deliver enhanced access, efficiency and outcomes to people who are most vulnerable.
To be able to do this Lifeline has a strong, reliable and compassionate counselling service. This 24-hr Crisis Counselling Line is easily accessibly on PHONE No 13 11 14.
Lifeline’s services now cover more than just crisis and intervention as many centres provide workshops that focus on issues like anger management, self esteem, communication skills and improving parenting techniques in face to face or group programs and counselling.
To ensure that this service continues Lifeline needs a continuing supply of trained compassionate volunteer counsellors. To ensure this supply regular training courses are run by Lifeline.
The next Volunteer Telephone Counselling training course starts 4th February and continues until 13th June.
It will be held every Thursday between 6pm and 9pm at Lifeline’s Client Services Centre, 37 Duporth Avenue, Maroochydore. Please phone 5409 2633 weekdays for a brochure.”
