Maleny Man fatally injured in a tree felling incident |

A well-known Maleny man, Alan Walker was killed when he was trimming an avocado tree his Witta property.
A Maleny police spokesperson said that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death. Alan Walker of Witta, north west of Maleny was in his late 50s and was a long time teacher at the Caloundra High School. The Walker family had lived in the Maleny area since the early 1980's and was well known and well respected in the community.
Fire crews and paramedics responded to a report of a man injured at the Witta property about 6.30pm on Monday July 4th.
The Maleny police spokesperson said that the Workplace Health and Safety Department had been advised of the incident but are not investigating as the accident happened on private property and was not a workplace.
A police report is being prepared for the information of the Coroner. The Hinterlandgrapevine offers condolences to Pam and her family at this sad time.
