Each
time Malenyites walk past the Maleny Community Centre they are bound to
see volunteers in the Maleny Visitor Information Centre kiosk.
The Maleny Visitor Information Centre Inc. is a volunteer-run, non profit community organisation promoting and supporting Maleny and the Hinterland’s businesses and community organisations. It was first established in 1993.
Firstly it was overseen by well-known Maleny personality, Joan Benson then the reins were taken on by Bridget Sparks. Bridget is now wishing for a life with less stress so she has decided to stand down as President of the Maleny Visitor Information Centre.
The new President, Bryan Hughes was elected at the 2011 A.G.M. which was held at King Ludwig’s Restaurant, Mt View Road, Maleny.
Bridget said, “In the last three years, the Maleny Centre has twice won the prestigious “Best All-Volunteer Information Centre” award from the Queensland Information Centres Association and this has given great pride.”
