A 21-year-old male and 18-year-old female, from Brisbane had to be winched off Mount Tibrogargan by helicopter late yesterday after becoming lost wandering off the walking track.
SES
volunteers and police were alerted about the missing people about
5.20pm., but the rescue was completed within the hour without them being
activated as the AGL Action Rescue Helicopter crew were called in and
they located the couple on the west side of the mountain.
A paramedic was winched down to assist the uninjured climbers who were brought back to the base of the mountain.
The climbers said after the rescue that whilst the view was extraordinary they would not be making the climb again.
2010
saw a number of rescues from the Glasshouse Mountains and police warn
that climbers should be prepared when they make the climb.
