Old Montville murder solved

On Friday January 29th, 2010 Sunshine Coast detectives Police charged two people for murder, following investigations into the disappearance of a 43-year-old Montville man who was reported missing by his family in July 2001.

Johnathon Byron Watkins was allegedly last seen walking away from his home at Western Avenue in Montville and was not seen again.

In response to information received, warrants were executed today resulting in the arrests.

Those charged were Russell Graham Pilkington, 50, of Nambour and Michele Irsigler, 42, of Montville.   They were charged with murdering the father of two Johnathon Byron Watkins.   He was last seen leaving his Montville home on July 25, 2001

Another person, Jason Scott Bundesen, a Maleny earthmoving contractor, was also charged with being an accessory to murder and interfering with a 
 corpse on November 25th 2001.

Mr Bundersen and Ms Irsigler were in a relationship.   When Bundersen appeared before the Magistrates Court at Maroochyudore on January 29th he was granted bail so that he could care for Ms Irsigler's autistic daughter as Ms Irsigler was not granted bail but was remanded in custody.

Another Montville man, aged 38 has been charged with being an accessory after the fact, interfering with a corpse and drug matters.  

Pilkington and Irsigler appeared in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court and were remanded in custody until their next court appearance on March 24.
