Reesville turnoff to get a major rebuild |

A section of Kenilworth Road
between Kings Lane and Lawrence Place is to be upgraded at a cost of
approximately 2 million dollars. This section of road is situated on
the witta side of the Kenilworth Road i/s Reesville Road.
Work is to commence before the end of June 2009. Work will see the road surface considerable widened and design changes to the Reesville Road intersection ensuring a much safer area.
This is the first of a number of projects on Kenilworth Road. Depending on the weathe, this project is expected to be finalised before Christmas 2009.
Further studies by the Transport Department will highlight other areas of Kenilworth Road between Conondale and Cambroon that need to be upgraded. Funding for this study has been allocated and that study will commence immediately.
Work has also recently commenced at Fritz Creek to replace the bridge and upgrade the approaches. This project is also expected to be finalised by the end of 2009.
Kenilworth Road has continued to carry an increased traffic flow of recent years and that traffic flow will continue to grow, especially as this route has become a major tourist route.
