Vocational Service is one of the many positive aspects of Rotary, and giving recognition to people in business and employment who provide service beyond the call of duty is one of the ways Rotary can serve the community.
The Rotary Club of Maleny is seeking nominees in two new award categories:
Outstanding young people
To have received a Rotary award is an especially worthy addition for young people to have on their resumes and we urge everyone to take the time to nominate someone you know who deserves recognition.
Horticultural enterprises
On the Range we also have a unique opportunity to recognise the achievements of entrepreneurs in horticulture who came after the timber and dairy industries had matured, and pioneeered other new enterprises.
Pioneering takes courage and fortitude and the ability to test and innovate in order to establish and grow.
With many farms being subdivided over the years there is a a range of horticultural blocks growing blueberries, parsley, florist fill, coffee, and many other crops.
The Maleny Rotary Club would love to hear about some of them!
