Solar Users duped again!
Written by Les Fawkes

Following consideration by the Queensland Competition Authority Queensland regional households are about to be paid only six cents a kilowatt hour for excess solar power produced by rooftop systems as from July 1st, 2015.

Whilst the Energy Minister Mark Bailey is yet to respond to the recommendation it has been strongly hinted that he will adopt that recommendation.

Those electricity users who have contracts for the 44 cent feed-in tariff will continue to get paid this amount.

The Queensland Competition Authority believes that  the six cent figure represented the real value of the energy supplied by solar power to the retailers as they still have their normal operating costs to take into account.
