Sunshine Coast roads to get extra funding
The Sunshine Coast the Federal Government’s Roads to Recovery Programme is being doubled with local streets and roads in the region set to benefit from $4,893,991 in funding during 2015–16. This is double the amount allocated in the 2014/ 2015 year.
Federal
Member for Fisher Mal Brough MP said that the Programme is part of the
Australian Government’s Economic Action Strategy to invest in
world-class productivity-enhancing infrastructure to create jobs,
improve safety, reduce travel times and boost economic growth.
This major injection of funding for local street and road
priorities will create jobs, boost our local economy and make our roads
safer for the whole community and the Sunshine Coast Council has the
flexibility to make the road spending decisions themselves to meet local
priorities.
