Toddler injured in accident |

On
Monday December 5th a young girl aged about three years was injured
when hit by a horse float on private property on Maleny - Keniworth
Road Conondale.
The toddler was unconscious after the accident and the AGL rescue helicopter was called in by paramedics to transport the child in a critical condition to the Royal Brisbane hospital. The child sustained injuries to the head and abdomen.
A Police spokesperson said that a young girl aged about three years had suffered head injuries after being struck by a rear door on horse float at Conondale. It is believed that the toddler was playing at the rear of the parked horse float when the rear door fell open and pinned the child to the ground.
The child's family, Colin Thompson and partner, Christine Peters is a well known Conondale family and that family is heavily involved in the horse industry. The injury to this child has had a profound effect on the closely knit Conondale community.
The child's remains in a critical condition.
