In
what started off as a routine horse rider for a 26 year old Kenilworth
woman on Wednesday October 26th ended in a full scale search when she
failed to return home.
Police were advised about 8p.m. that night that the woman and her horse had failed to return from their regular horse ride on property at Booloumba Creek west of Kenilworth.
Fears were raised on the womans behalf as the area in which she was missing is in close proximinity to the area where two other women went missing in the late 1990’s.
A British woman, 28 year old Celena Bridge went missing in July 1998 and local woman, Sabrina Glassop went missing in May 1999. Neither have been seen again and it is believed that these women were murdered.
Police are still making inquiries into the disappearance of these two women.
The area is isolated and contains a large forestry plantation. A search on the night of October 26th failed to locate the woman and the search recommenced on the morning of October 27th. The search involved police and SES volunteers along with trail bike riders and the AGL rescue helicopter.
There was a hugh sigh of relief when the woman was located about midday on October 27th. The woman was safe and well. She had become lost as daylight was lost on the Wednesday afternoon.
