“Protecting our future “ is the new mantra of the Woodford Folk
Festival said festival founder and director Bill Hauritz today as The
Queensland Folk Federation (QFF) launched their online ticket sales for
the next festival in December.
The QFF has announced that tickets to the Woodford Folk Festival will only be available online.
During the festival patrons can only buy tickets through the Woodford Folk Festival website.
A cap on tickets will aim to ensure space and comfort levels according to Mr. Hauritz.
“We’re aiming for Woodfordia to be a great festival site even in the
wet. We’re certain that at the end of this project, the site will be in
better shape than it was before the floods.” said Mr. Hauritz.
The
dramatic wet summer which caused havoc with the popular
festival and threatened its continuing existence by leaving the festival
with a $2.6 million deficit. However, the Queensland Folk
Federation (QFF) has managed to turn their misfortune around.
The Moreton Bay Regional Council has agreed to purchase the land from the Q.F.F. and lease the site back to them for 50 years so that the festival can continue.
With the tenure stabilised and debt removed, festival organisers have moved on in an energetic fashion.
Tickets are available at woodfordfolkfestival.com
