Friends and family of Lurl Claxton have recently initiated fund-raising
activities on her behalf in an attempt to raise over $12,000 for a
breast cancer treatment program. The support that the community of
Maleny and Hinterland have offered has been a real tonic for Lurl.

| Lurl and Ode Claxton's friends and family have initiated fundraising activities to help Lurl with her cancer treatment
| The treatment will occur over a 24 week period costing $550 each week. At the moment the amount of money raised and pledged will cover the first ten weeks of her treatment. Lurl?s 12-year-old son Ode attends Conondale State School. The school, including Ode's classmates and teacher, have also offered their support. A charity auction will be held on Saturday October 1 at the school to raise money for Lurl's treatment.
If you would like to donate goods to be auctioned phone Tom Gray at the school between Monday and Friday on 5494 4571. Goods can be dropped at the school this week or the first week back after the school holidays.
If you want to drop stuff off during the holidays contact the principal on 5435 0232. The school can also arrange pick up if required. An account has been set up at the Maleny Credit Union if businesses wish to make tax-deductible donations - MCU Charitable Trust, BSB: 704606, Acc: 5254S3. Alternatively an account also exists for people wishing to make private donations - BSB: 704606, Acc: 6257S2.
Lurl would like to express her deep gratitude to everyone who has made donations and for the support that continues to come in.
