Eleven-year-old Mitchell Runge played a man of the match performance batting almost the entire innings before being forced to retire on 75 with six runs to get. His performance and those of his team-mates ensured victory over Buderim at Nambour in the Presidents Cup Under 14Bs on Sunday January 23.
Eleven-year-old Mitchell Runge played a man of the match performance batting almost the entire innings before being forced to retire on 75 with six runs to get. His performance and those of his team-mates ensured victory over Buderim at Nambour in the Presidents Cup Under 14Bs on Sunday January 23.
Buderim battled first and scored a solid total of 135. Good bowling performances were put in by left arm opening bowler Jack Evans, captain Sean Leonard, speedstar Kevin Schultz and the Casu twins, Riley and Taylor. Glasshouse reached the total in the 30th over with the loss of eigth wickets.
Special mention should also be made of the efforts of Taylor Casu who combined with Mitch in a match-winning partnership of 41 runs. With all spectators on the edge of their seats, the last two batsmen, Eric Thorpe and Charlie Langdon, combined to reach the winning score.
