The Maleny Swimming Club has survived one of its most difficult years, but has still managed to operate the Maleny Centenary Swimming Pool out of school hours.
Credit must go to all club members, the pool manager, service clubs and the wider Maleny public who have continued to support the Maleny Swimming Club. When school goes back for the second term, the Maleny Swimming Club hopes to have the pool open earlier in the afternoon during school hours to make up for some of the lost time this season. Phone the pool manager Antara for exact details on 5494 2589. The pool will close for the season after ANZAC Day. The Maleny Swimming Club is in the process of organising a new lease with Education Queensland for the coming season. The Maleny Swimming Club?joined with the Maleny Hydrotherapy Committee and the Maleny Gym Committee to put a submission forward to the CCC Aquatic Facility Needs Study for an Aquatic Centre. The Club will continue to work closely with Division 1 Cr Dick Newman to pursue this goal. The Maleny Swimming Club is holding its Presentation Day/AGM on Sunday April 17 at the pool starting at 1pm with a pool party and barbecue to follow. Everyone in the community is invited to attend and take part.
