Maleny's own community bank, the Maleny Credit Union (MCU), has finished the year on a high winning gold, silver and bronze in Money Magazines' Best of the Best Awards.

The prestigious Best of the Best Awards are run each year by Money Magazine to identify the best and most innovative products offered by Australian financial institutions.
Based on information gathered by independent research houses and a panel of finance experts, Money Magazine awarded MCU - Gold for Cheapest Car Loan for the Extreme Green Car Loan, Gold for Best Savings Account for the ESaver Account, Silver for Best Term Deposit - Short Term, 90 day term deposit, Bronze for Best Term Deposit - Long Term, 1 year term deposit.
MCU general manager John Ford said the ?credit union was extremely pleased to receive this national recognition for product excellence.
"It's been our aim over the last several years to improve the value for money offered to our members," John said.
"These awards confirm that locals don't need to look outside their own community for the very best in financial services." "We've won prizes in the past for our commitment to environmental sustainability."
We've been dismissed in the past as a bunch of greenies not focussed on the real game - whatever that is.
These awards help to prove that our commitment to the environment and community doesn't compromise our ability to offer great value for money products.
