The Blackall Range Business and Tourism Association (BRBTA) president
John Atkin announced this week the completion of a new, 30 second TV
commercial promoting the Hinterland.
Well-known, international producer, director and cameraman Mike
Middleton along with his team from On Camera shot the commercial, which
promotes the essence of the Range, the walks and parks, the shopping
and art, fine food and wines plus great places to stay. There is a
call to action where viewers are encouraged to ring a 1800 number to
receive a free guide to the Hinterland.
The Essential Guide to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, produced by The
Range News, is being used as the mail out for these enquiries.
Advertising schedules are being produced to screen the advertisement in
key regional areas such as the Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba and Gold
Coast/Northern Rivers.
It is hoped to run a promotional campaign in in each of these areas
from July to the end of November, however, the duration of the campaign
will very much depend on the level of support from local businesses.
A strong tourism industry is essential to the financial health of the
Range and the BRBTA hopes the commercial will raise the awareness of
the area and deliver more tourists and therefore more dollars.
An opportunity to see the new commercial, hear more about the upcoming
initiatives of Tourism Blackall Range and enjoy a social get together
is planned.
There will be a presentation at the Montville Mountain Inn on Monday
May 23 at 6.30pm for the Northern end of the Range. On Monday May 30
at 5.30pm for 6pm start at Maple 3 Caf? in Maleny there will be a
presentation for the Southern end.
A gold coin donation on entry will be sought to help offset part of the
costs for what should be an informative and interesting evening. To
help with catering please RSVP to the Montville Information Centre on
5478 5544 for the Montville presentation.
Those attending the Maleny presentation should RSVP to Bendles Cottages
on 5494 2400. All people interested in business and tourism are
invited to come along, enjoy a glass of wine, see the commercial and
meet some new people. Mr Atkin said: ?This new commercial is a great
initiative. BRBTA have paid for all production costs and are putting in
$1000 towards the advertising costs. I urge all business owners to
give us the financial support to mount an ongoing campaign to keep our
profile in the marketplace.?
John passed on his special thanks to The Range News for the use of the
Essential Guide to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland and to Telstra for the
important sponsorship of the 1800 number and associated costs.
