Founder of the original Montville Concert Series Robert Harris returns to the Hinterland in April to perform with other top professional musicians in Maleny Arts Council's Autumn Music Festival, April 9 and 10.

Three sets of musical partners make up the performance group presenting Autumn Music. Firstly Robert Harris on viola and Dorit Herskovits on double bass, second set is Spiros Rantos on violin and Brachi Tilles on piano and the third set is Gwyn Roberts on 'cello and Jenni Fleming pianist and vocalist.

Different combinations of instruments for each concert promise an interesting weekend of fine music. All six will present the program on Sunday April 10 at Maleny Big Barrel Winery. This will be a one hour European musical tour - a lively and lyrical sonata for Strings by Italian born, Rossini, Bagatelles from Prague for Strings and harmoniium by Dvorak, Viennese miniatures for piano trio by Fritz Kreisler and Parisian bon-bons by Chaminade. The concert starts at 11am.

You can come to the morning concert at The Big Barrel, and then move on to Maleny Cheese's birthday party on the way to the 3pm concert at Montville Village Hall. At the Hall you will hear the well known and much loved Trout Quintet by Franz Schubert. Spiros Rantos on violin and Brachi Tilles on piano lead their internationally acclaimed Ensemble I with 'cellist Gwyn Roberts, Dorit Herskovits on double-bass and the original viola player of Montville Concerts Robert Harris for the Trout Quintet. After interval hear Joachim Turina's passionate and fiery piano quartet.

On Saturday April 9 at Braeside B&B Champagne Classics will feature Gwyn Roberts on 'cello, Jenni Fleming and Dorit Herskovits in music by Bach, Bolling and Blossom Dearie. There will be refreshments from 4.30pm and the concert from 5pm.

Tickets need to be pre-purchased for The Big Barrel and Braeside B&B concerts.
