Show Society president Ivan Hankinson said he wanted to thank everyone
involved in staging another successful Show. ?I?d like to thank all
Show sponsors as well as people who learnt machinery for the show. A
big thank you to our volunteers, before, during and cleaning up after
the show on Sunday.
?At the dinner table we had 82 sit down to a hot lunch prepared by our show ladies. At the end of the day, as you looked out over the grounds you would not have known there had been a Show the day before. I would like to thank the people for attending and making the show a huge success.
?What a beautiful weekend weather wise and crowd wise. Thanks to my committee, stewards and workers for their support and I would like to wish Jean Brooks all the best as she is leaving, and again, thank you all for attending.?
Show Society president Ivan Hankinson said the only dampener on the weekend was when a group of about 50 youths were escorted from the Showgrounds on Friday night about 9pm.
?They were supposed to be at a party up the street somewhere but they all ended up at the Showgrounds with their big bottles of grog - rum, vodka, UDL. They threw toilet paper all around the skatebowl.
?We had just prepared the toilets for the next day and they went and did that. Some of these kids were only 13 to 14 year olds. It disappoints you a bit when you see this. So some parents might like to ask their kids where they were on Friday night.
?It makes you disappointed when you see so many young ones who were full of grog.?
